Abstract

The aim of this work is to know the diversity and the use of cultivated plants in the traditional Saharan pharmacopoeia. For this, 160 Surveys were carried out in the southern region of Oued Righ. The results obtained allowed to identify 53 plant species belonging to 23 botanical families. The most represented family is that of Apiaceae followed by Cucurbitaceae and Solanaceae. The aerial parts are the most used compared to the underground parts. The species most used to treat various diseases are Lepidium sativum, Daucus carota, Allium cepa, Allium sativum and Carthamus tinctorius. The results obtained can be used for the development of an agropharmaceutical industry in the saharan areas.
